Online Event - The Voices of Black Muslim Women: On Intersectionality, Racism and Islamophobia.

On behalf of Immigration Partnership Winnipeg, Strangers in New Homelands Conference Planning Committee, Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO), Canadian Muslim Women Institute (CMWI), Bilal Community and Family Centre, and Islamic Social Services Association (ISSA), we would like to invite you to the virtual event: The Voices of Black Muslim Women: On Intersectionality, Racism and Islamophobia.

October is Islamic History Month, and this years theme is "Resilience and Achievements of Black Muslims." This event is being held in partnership with Islamic History Month Canada.

This virtual event will feature three Black, Muslim Women who will share their personal experiences of racism and islamophobia and their hopes for change. Space and time will be given to the audience for questions with the speakers and there will be facilitated breakout groups following the discussion for reflection. This event is open for settlement workers, community members and the general public.
