Join us for an online workshop on developing Plain Language resources. Learn how you can apply principles of plain language to written documents (from social media posts to guidebooks), and collaborate with your peers to improve the accessibility of your written materials. After completing the workshop, you will know the basic theory of plain language and feel more confident to apply those theories to the materials you develop for your clients. After you register, you will receive information about how to make your written materials a part of our workshop!
Key Objectives:
- Learn about the Plain Language movement and why Plain Language is important
- Identify the basics of Plain Language
- Practice developing written materials and receive feedback
This workshop is helpful for staff of the settlement sector (settlement workers, language program coordinators, project coordinators, etc.) who develop written materials for clients, as well as organizations that wish to remove barriers affecting persons with disabilities or low-level language skills.
