Lunch & Learn: Addressing Hate Crime in Manitoba with RCMP

15 Apr 2026
12:00pm - 1:00pm CDT

Join us for a one-hour Lunch & Learn session featuring Cpl. Matt Valcourt from the Manitoba RCMP's Community Engagement Service. This session is designed for MANSO members and newcomer-serving organizations to gain valuable insight into the recent rise of hate crimes across the province. Bring your questions, as there will be dedicated time for live Q&A and discussion!

Cpl. Valcourt will speak about the RCMP's role and responsibilities in addressing this critical issue and will focus on how community organizations can connect and collaborate with law enforcement to support newcomers. This is an essential opportunity for learning, networking, and ensuring your team has the most current information and contacts for crime prevention efforts.

This session is designed for frontline staff and managers who:

  • are looking to strengthen their organization’s client safety response
  • need relevant tools for hate incident reporting
  • work directly with clients who may experience discrimination

By attending, you’ll learn how to:

  • identify early signs of hate‑motivated incidents involving your clients
  • connect clients safely to community safety contacts
  • use RCMP resources and reporting pathways effectively
