Join us for a one-hour Lunch & Learn session featuring Cpl. Matt Valcourt from the Manitoba RCMP's Community Engagement Service. This session is designed for MANSO members and newcomer-serving organizations to gain valuable insight into the recent rise of hate crimes across the province. Bring your questions, as there will be dedicated time for live Q&A and discussion!
Cpl. Valcourt will speak about the RCMP's role and responsibilities in addressing this critical issue and will focus on how community organizations can connect and collaborate with law enforcement to support newcomers. This is an essential opportunity for learning, networking, and ensuring your team has the most current information and contacts for crime prevention efforts.
This session is designed for frontline staff and managers who:

- need relevant tools for hate incident reporting
- work directly with clients who may experience discrimination

Presenter bio
Corporal Matt Valcourt is currently in his 14th year with the Manitoba RCMP. He began his RCMP career with general duty postings in both Pimicikamak First Nation and the Selkirk area. Cpl. Valcourt then transferred to the Manitoba RCMP Recruiting Unit. In 2024 Cpl. Valcourt promoted to the Community Engagement Services Unit where he currently works in Crime Prevention and as the Divisional Hate Crime(s) Coordinator.
