Newcomer Navigation & Support (NNSU)

The Cultural Resource Facilitators of Manitoba Possible’s NNSU assist newcomers living with disabilities in Winnipeg, providing family focused care and case management, helping them to connect with services and supports to enhance their daily living.

Manitoba Possible Cultural Facilitators provide direct cultural interpretation and facilitation services for clients, and their families, who are newcomers to Canada and who are living with disabilities. Many of our clients acquired their disability from acts of war and other very difficult living conditions in their native countries and bring with them numerous health and social co-morbidities (e.g.: PTSD). Manitoba Possible Cultural Facilitators work as case workers to assist new Canadians with disabilities, helping them to understand, navigate, and access health, social services and other supports in Winnipeg. The Newcomer Navigation and Support Unit also provides workshops and training to service providers, helping to raise their awareness of, and sensitivity to, the cultural values of their diverse patients/clients.
