About Development Assistance International (D.A.I.) Inc.

Development Assistance: International (D.A.1.) Inc. is a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting newcomers, children and youth, and families as they build stable, healthy, and connected lives in Winnipeg. Our mandate is to promote social inclusion, well-being, and empowerment by providing accessible, culturally responsive programs and services at no cost to participants. 

We focus on addressing the unique challenges faced by newcomers, including language. barriers, social isolation, and limited access to resources. Our programs include after-school support for youth, mentorship and leadership development, family programs, employment support, health and wellness initiatives, and cultural programming such as Swahili language, cooking, and community events. These activities create safe spaces where participants can learn, share, and celebrate their identities while gaining practical skills for everyday life. 

Development Assistance International Inc. also works to strengthen community connections by fostering collaboration among families; volunteers, and local partners. We prioritize inclusive engagement and ensure that our services reflect the diverse backgrounds of the communities we serve. 

Through our work, we aim to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging among participants. 

By reducing barriers to participation and offering free programs, DAI contributes to stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
