Presentation: CCLB Stage One Teaching Considerations
Description:
This workshop will explore factors which need to be taken into account to meet the needs of CCLB Stage One learners. There will be information, discussion and interactive activities related to PBLA and CLB-aligned lesson preparation and delivery, as well as other considerations and resources. Participants will learn how to simplify a reading or listening text down to a Stage One CLB level, how to provide a supportive Stage One learning environment, as well as how to critically evaluate resources to ensure suitability for Stage One.
Learning Outcomes:
- How to decide whether a module topic is suitable for Stage 1
- How to simplify a text from Stage 2 (e.g. CLB 7) to Stage 1 (e.g. CLB 3)
- How to notice Stage 1 features of lesson delivery (video of a Stage 1 teacher)
