Pembina Valley Local Immigration Partnership
About Pembina Valley Local Immigration Partnership
The Pembina Valley Local Immigration Partnership represents 13 municipalities in southern Manitoba with the overall objective of developing and implementing sustainable solutions for the successful integration of newcomers. We are hosted by Regional Connections Immigrant Services, and currently have 20 partnerships in 7 municipalities (Winkler, Morden, Altona, Carman, Rhineland Municipality, RM of Stanley & RM of Dufferin)
With the level of immigration increasing, the need for collaborative conversations with multiple communities and their leaders, advised by newcomer voices, has led to identifying 3 main priorities for the region:
1. Welcoming & Inclusive Community Policy
2. Communication
3. Newcomer Mental Health (well-being)
Together we are Connecting Cultures and Communities: uniting voices in the Pembina Valley to ensure everyone can feel welcomed and belong.
