Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) is a bridge to opportunity for students looking for career-focused learning; for industry looking for skilled workers and workforce development opportunities to fuel their growth; and for newcomers to Canada looking to adapt, settle, and integrate into a successful new life.
The English Language Centre at MITT delivers English language classes to Canadian newcomers. Both full-time day and part-time evening classes are offered at 609 Erin Street. Classes include Literacy, CLB 1 to CLB 4,and a multi-level (Literacy Foundation to CLB 2) Mom and Baby class for women with infants 12 months and younger. In addition, MITT offers a language and employment preparation class for Refugees, CLB 1 - 3, that bridges clients from the language class into specific employment where ongoing language classes and supports are provided.

LINC 1-4
The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology provides client-centred settlement ESL learning that intersects educational need with Pathways 2 Education Employment (P2EE). The P2EE foundation focuses on communication for employment in the workplace, with employers and colleagues, and provides the necessary academic English language training required to pursue further education or obtain career-level employment. This approach allows students to learn and build upon existing skills, and supports their settlement into Canadian society.
Manufacturing Production Worker Program (REDI)
The Manufacturing Production Worker Program is part of the Refugee Employment Development Initiative (REDI) and is a joint programming initiative between Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) and Opportunities for Employment (OFE).
This program is a pathway for refugees in Winnipeg into employment as a production worker with a manufacturing company in Manitoba while also improving their English language.
Mom and Baby Class
Participants are women with babies who are one year old or younger. Mothers bring babies to class each day and their babies stay with them throughout the day. The classroom provides learning centres for moms and is furnished with childcare supports (cribs, glider rocker, change table, fridge, and more)
