PROGRAM:
English Online’s Live & Learn (livelearn.ca) is a free online program for newcomers living in Manitoba. It provides relevant information and orientation to ease newcomers’ settlement in Manitoba. It offers flexible online learning options that take into account newcomers’ needs and preferences.
Clients can study with a group, peer-to-peer, one-on-one or independently (self-study). Online classes are led by certified EAL/ESL Instructors and are held at flexible times. Registered learners can attend Coffee Chats, Multi-week sessions, Language Circles, and Drop-in Sessions. This learning option is informal.
Clients may also benefit from the online e-Volunteer program where they can choose to work with a certified EAL/ESL e-Tutor to enhance English or an e-Settlement Coach to address any settlement needs. This program is informal.
Language learners who are unable to attend regular full-time or part-time classes can avail of LINC Home Study (LHS) https://livelearn.ca/learn/one-on-one-learning/ . They get one-on-one instruction online and receive a CLB certificate upon completion of the program. To be referred to the LHS program, clients must book an appointment at a Language Assessment Centre to test their English language skills and confirm their eligibility. For more information on how to register for the LHS program, visit this page https://livelearn.ca/linc-home-study-registration/
Through Live & Learn, newcomers learn about life in Manitoba and gain practical tips while improving their English language skills.
