DESCRIPTION: The Family Resolution Service (FRS) offers free services and 
 supports for families navigating separation and divorce\, and/or intimate 
 partner violence (IPV) in Manitoba. This session will highlight available 
 services to help families resolve their issues in a safe\, collaborative\,
  fair\, affordable\, and timely way. Participants will gain an 
 understanding of out-of-court resolution\, legal and social supports 
 available to Manitobans who are navigating separation and divorces. 
 Participants will gain an understanding of intimate partner and family 
 violence supports available for families navigating separation and 
 divorce. Participants will gain an understanding of how to refer 
 individuals or families to the Family Resolution Service and who to 
 contact if they have questions about family justice. Participants will 
 also learn about new and exciting family justice initiatives that are in 
 development. Facilitators/ Speakers: Jessica Praznik (she/her) is the 
 Executive Director of the Family Resolution Service. She has worked with 
 the branch for just under three years\, previously working as a Senior 
 Policy Analyst and the branch&rsquo\;s Associate Executive Director. 
 Jessica has spent the major of her career working with newcomer\, 
 immigrant\, refugee communities for over 12 years\, in a variety of 
 capacities from front line and administrative\, to research and indirect. 
 Most recently\, she worked as a Project Manager for Immigration 
 Partnership Winnipeg\, where she oversaw many of the organizations&rsquo\;
  civic engagement\, inclusion\, employment and anti-racism projects. 
 Jessica holds a Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Toronto 
 Metropolitan University and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the
  University of Winnipeg. Nicholas Liang (he/him|il) is the A/Associate 
 Executive Director of the Family Resolution Service. Throughout his career
  he has held a diverse range of jobs whether in academia\, the settlement 
 sector\, or creative fields. Nicholas holds a graduate degree in economics
  and joined the Public Service in 2022 as a Policy Analyst with the 
 Multiculturalism Secretariat. In 2023\, he joined the Family Resolution 
 Service as a Senior Policy Analyst &ndash\; taking on his current role in 
 2024. In addition to his professional experience\, Nicholas brings his 
 lived experience as a second-generation immigrant and child of divorce to 
 inform the operational delivery of services to families navigating 
 separation and divorce. In his spare time\, he enjoys spending time with 
 his partner and working on creative projects. This is an online event. You
